Sarantaporos Science Week - MedINA
The Sarantaporos River and part of Aoos River have recently been designated as a Protected Natural Formation and Protected Landscape. However, it is still threatened by approximately 30 planned small hydropower projects.
The Sarantaporos Science Week comes to fill important gaps in scientific knowledge about the biodiversity and natural processes of the two rivers, in order to document and highlight their ecological value. The aim is the effective full protection and conservation of the transboundary Aoos/Vjosa River and its tributaries.
We’re proud to have contributed to the event, by supporting its communication campaign. We aimed to boost the effort of MedINA [Meditteranean Institute For Nature And Anthropos] to inform, inspire, and guide the conversation on the next steps, in protecting these vital natural resources.
