EmpowerVan is an initiative focused on empowering marginalized and displaced individuals through self-defense training as a means of violence prevention. To support their ongoing awareness and outreach efforts, we developed a series of custom merchandise designs spotlighting themes of strength, autonomy, and resistance.
The collection features bold, punk-infused illustrations, utilizing feline imagery as a sharp, defiant metaphor for self-protection and boundary-setting. The visual language intentionally balances a playful graphic style with a raw, assertive energy. Heavy typography are used to communicate immediate defiance.
A layer of subversive humor and underground comic aesthetics into the narrative. Together, the individual illustrations establish a high-impact visual identity that is fully in tune with the organization's message of standing one's ground.
