Flowing Forward - The Aoos Protection Campaign

In November 2023, a landmark decision by the Greek state designated Sarantaporos River and part of the Aoos River as protected natural formations and landscapes. This historic step marked a significant win for river conservation in Greece. To amplify this moment and to fuel further public awareness and momentum, MedINA [Meditteranean Institution For Nature And Anthropos], launched a multifaceted campaign to highlight the ecological and cultural importance of the Aoos-Sarantaporos river network.

We developed the campaign identity and all accompanying visual material, aiming to celebrate this milestone while rallying for complete protection of these natural ecosystems. Our work included a series of posters, informative brochures, and merchandise designs used throughout the campaign’s events and community outreach.

A key component of the campaign was a collection of short animated videos, ranging from looping GIFs to short teasers, designed to explain the ongoing challenges that threaten the rivers, such as barriers to free flow, and to showcase sustainable practices that support their health and resilience.

These dynamic visuals served as accessible and engaging tools across social media and local organisations, reinforcing the message that the protection of these rivers is not only a legal victory but an ongoing communal responsibility.
